# What Happens When You Wait Too Long

Today is a shortened trading day, with the stock market closing at 1 p.m. Eastern instead.

But I just wanted to quickly share a chart that once again reinforces why we’re in a good spot.

Here’s a quick table showing the performance of the various indexes 12 months after the Fed’s final rate hike.

And as you can see, barring the exception that was the Dot-Com bust, markets were solidly up every time.

The Fed’s final rate hike this cycle was likely back in July – at the current 2023 highs…

Meaning if the historical pattern plays out as normal, we’re likely to cruise past those levels – perhaps even going past the 2021 highs.

As I’ve said before – history is on our side. So let’s make sure we take advantage of it – and not wait too long.

**Waiting for price action confirmation is intelligent. But waiting too long will cause you to miss the big move.**
